Out With The Old, In With The NaNoWriMo

Well, it’s been a very eventful week.

On Tuesday the unthinkable happened…. My computer got poorly, and I don’t just mean a cold. We are talking, full on man flu!!!!

I’d just finished writing the start of chapter eleven in Ethereal Longing. It’s a chapter I’d been planning for ages. I got it just right. and then my computer didn’t save it. It said it was saving it…. but it didn’t. It had in fact frozen even though I was still typing.

In all fairness, it was a very old machine, but I didn’t expect that… I could have cried.

Well, I wasn’t going to risk it happening again so off I went to buy a new one. I now have a nice shiny new purple laptop. It’s on windows 10 as opposed to the windows 7 ultimate I was using. It is purple. and it works beautifully… ok I had a few glitches, but it’s new and did I mention it’s purple? (Yes I’m easily amused by shiny things and pretty colours.)

Anyway, as you can guess I’ve hardly done any writing because in between going to the day job I’ve been too busy playing with my new toy.

So basically, I need a kick up the bum to get back into writing gear…. Enter my sister who told me about Camp NaNoWriMo.

Off I tottered to check out the site and in no time at all, I was signed up. As of tomorrow, I have to write 50,000 words by the end of July, Which works out perfect as I’m already 22,000 into Ethereal Longing so another 50,000 should take me to near completion. Let’s just hope I have no more computer problems.

This will be my first time at having a writing goal so fingers crossed I can stick to it.

If anyone else is interested in this here’s the link.

Happy Writing.
